51 Brides, 51 Dreams - Shagun Vivah Utsav 2026

Fifty-one stories of resilience converged into a single chorus of joy, and fifty-one vows became the foundation for hope, on March 30, 2026, at The Zora Convention Centre in Delhi.

This was the Shagun Vivah Utsav, a landmark event brought to life by the Ladli Foundation and AvdheshanandG Mission. In a significant first-time collaboration for this year, we at The Wedding Company lent our professional expertise as the Documentation & Photography-cum-Bridal Essentials Gifting partner to the event, turning a community-driven mission into a bespoke experience that mirrored the grandeur of India’s elite celebrations. Amidst the sound of Vedic chants, fifty-one women from economically vulnerable backgrounds thus stepped into a future defined by dignity and anchored in prosperity.

The Ladli Foundation Builds a Stable Future

The Shagun 2026 Initiative is the heart of the Ladli Foundation. It was born from the personal resilience of its founder, Mr Devendra Kumar, who was abandoned as a toddler with his infant sister. Witnessing how poverty turns daughters into perceived burdens, his fight to protect her from exploitation inspired a movement that has enabled over two thousand marginalised girls to enter safe unions since 2012. Shagun replaces the fear of crushing expenses with stability and pride.

This serves as a vital social protection intervention where every groom undergoes a mandatory security verification to ensure a safe future. The commitment continues past the Vidaai with post-marriage educational and entrepreneurship support for long-term self-reliance. By bearing all costs and strictly rejecting dowry, the initiative ensures new beginnings are built on genuine respect and equality.

Key Dignitaries Who Graced The Occasion

The 2026 Utsav was held under the divine blessings of Pujya Shri Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, whose presence lent a spiritual depth to the festivities. Distinguished national leaders, including Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji, the 14th President of India, and Smt. Rekha Gupta Ji, the Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi, were present to bless the sacred vows.

The programme followed a heartfelt flow, starting with a grand welcome for dignitaries followed by the arrival of the brides and grooms. From the Vedic Samuhik Varmala ceremony to the Sacred Musical Pheras, every detail was designed to make the couples feel like the guests of honour in a celebration as grand as any private gala. These ceremonies ensured every family felt their own significance within this massive, collective milestone.

The Art of Flawless Execution, by The Wedding Company

All too often, community weddings can feel transactional. They frequently feel rushed, and stripped of the personal touch that makes a wedding day special. Brides in these settings can often feel like just another number in a crowded hall, losing the sense of being the protagonist of their own story. At The Wedding Company, participating as the event’s  Documentation & Photography-cum-Bridal Essentials Gifting partner, we made it our mission to do the exact opposite.

Turning this vision into reality required an immense amount of behind-the-scenes grit. Long before the first lamp was lit at the venue, our team was knee-deep in brainstorming sessions. We spent weeks obsessing over the emotional architecture of the event. We asked ourselves: how do we ensure that in a sea of fifty-one couples, every single bride feels like she is the center of the universe? This led to late-night strategy marathons where we mapped out individual timelines and floor plans, ensuring that no ritual felt rushed and no family felt overlooked.

Led by our CEO and cofounder Pawan Gupta, our team treated the Shagun Vivah Utsav not merely as a social project, but as a premier event deserving of meticulous professional standards. With a portfolio of over a thousand successfully executed weddings and a vast footprint across India’s most iconic destinations, we brought a wealth of regional expertise to the arena. Our extensive experience in end-to-end wedding planning across cities like Jaipur, Udaipur, Goa and Bangalore provided the logistical backbone needed for this elite experience. We applied the same tireless effort typically reserved for celebrity weddings to ensure every couple felt uniquely celebrated.

To honour the significance of the occasion, the CEO performed the Kanyadaan ceremony for one of the couples hailing from Rajasthan and Bihar, blessing them for their new beginnings. It brought a sense of peace and reinforced the meaningful impact we were able to create together with the Ladli Foundation Trust. Our team ensured top-tier documentary coverage for the entire event and every individual couple. This effort went far beyond the grand stage. Photographers captured the quiet, nervous energy of each bride getting ready and a wealth of candid interactions between families throughout the day. We documented these intimate rituals and personal transformations with great detail, giving every couple a professional legacy typically reserved for the elite.

There was a clear focus on creating an engaging atmosphere for guests. Interactive selfie booths added a fun element, while comforters were distributed to couples as a thoughtful gift. Despite the presence of high-profile dignitaries, the environment remained relaxed, allowing families to feel truly at ease.

From the bride beautifully adorning herself, to the exchange of varmalas and an emotional vidaai, each moment of the celebration flowed seamlessly into the next and was perfectly documented. The success of the evening stood as a testament to the strength of thoughtful planning and professional synergy. The vision of Rajeev Jain (Founder of Rashi Entertainment) and the resources of the AvdheshanandG Mission were brought to life through our dedication and effort.

A Legacy That Lives On

As the celebration concluded with a grand dinner, it was clear that the Shagun Vivah Utsav is not just about a single day. It is about breaking intergenerational cycles and fostering a future where no daughter is left vulnerable because of her background. Every "Shagun" given that night was a step toward a society where every wedding, regardless of its scale, is a true celebration of dignity and grace.

For us at The Wedding Company, this journey was about more than just managing a venue or documenting a ritual; it was a mission to prove that luxury and dignity are not exclusive privileges reserved for the elite. By bringing the same intensity and creative heart to Shagun 2026 that we bring to India’s high-profile weddings, we helped transform a social necessity into a grand celebration of the human spirit. As the lights dimmed at The Zora Convention Center, we walked away knowing that these fifty-one daughters and families did not leave with merely an event; they left with a new life and the memory of a day where they were truly celebrated.

Ultimately, this Utsav stands as a testament to the fact that when deep compassion meets professional action, we create systemic change. This is the legacy we are proud to build, one flawless execution at a time.
